Medical-Legal Partnership in Massachusetts:
A Prescription for Vulnerable Patients
10am - 4pm | November 2, 2009 | Worcester, MAMedical-Legal Partnership (MLP) is an innovative tool for improving the health and well-being of low-income individuals, children, and families. Through collaborative planning, reciprocal training efforts, and integration of legal services in the clinical setting, health care providers and legal professionals team up to address the social determinants of health, including unsafe housing, hunger, and domestic violence.
Please join us and other key stakeholders for a day of learning and networking at the first-ever Massachusetts state-wide conference on MLP.
We are honored that Congressman Jim McGovern of the Massachusetts Third Congressional District will be joining us as keynote speaker.

Educational Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- State the objectives of a medical legal-partnership, and the rationale for including legal advocacy in the medical setting.
- Plan a training session for social work, legal, and medical partners at their home institution.
- Identify partners from other MLPs around the state with whom they may collaborate on future work.
